Join Embargoed! at the Greek Embassy on July 15th to remind the world of the deadly Athens led coup d’etat which took place in Cyprus on July 15th 1974. The coup was undertaken with the stated aim of ‘ENOSIS’, the union of Cyprus with Greece.

This flagrant violation of the Cyprus constitution led to civil war among pro and anti-Makarios supporters among the Greek Cypriot community and, ultimately, provoked the timely intervention of Türkiye to save the Turkish Cypriot community from pre-planned genocide. We shall not forget!
