The Turkish Elders Club is born out in 1992 of close cooperation between young British Turks and British Turkish Cypriots volunteers and the Lewisham Council’s Social Services. David Moss was the officer in the Care of Elderly Branch who supports us in those years.
Our current activities include:
• Befriending scheme
• Counseling service
• Welfare advice, information and guidance
• Translation service
• Celebration of national and religious days (Christmas, Ramadan Bayram, New Year, Turkish National Day)
• Co-ordination of networking, training and social services.
